The business of cybercrime evolves in cycles. Malware writers and other suppliers provide cybercriminal services to botnet owners. The botnet owners in their turn provide services to carders, spammers and others. Having made money by developing a piece of malware or another service, the supplier then starts on the next order, and the cycle begins again. Every new cycle involves more participants; the purchasers of services try to increase turnover, and rumors of profitable orders spread quickly across hacker forums and other channels of cybercriminal communication.
